BIOTIC AND ABIOTIC FACTORS
Biotic factors are living components in an ecosystem that affect other organisms and the food that the organisms consume. Biotic factors require energy and food to function. Some examples of biotic factors in the temperate rainforest are:
- Deciduous trees
- Birch trees
- Oak trees
- Eastern Chipmunk
- Red Tailed Hawk
- Least Weasel
- White-Tailed Deer
- Coyote
- Carpet Moss
- Lady Fern
Abiotic factors, on the other hand, are the non-living factors that affect the ecosystem. Some abiotic factors that can be found in the temperate rainforest are:
- Rocks
- Soil
- Water
- Temperature
- Sunlight
- Air
- Rain
- Precipitation
- Climate
